Personal bio Osmo

My name is Osmo Ryyti, I am currently 18 years old and I live in Tarmola, Porvoo. In my spare time I usually work on customers engines, play videogames or go to the gym. I personally think exercise is really important but now that the coronavirus made the gyms close I havn´t been able to lift weights, altough I´ve started to go for walks a lot more.

I am currently studying machining at Careeria Porvoo. This is my last spring at this school and it has been a fun journey. I´ve learned a lot during these couple of years, for example machining, welding and 3D-printing. The machining and metalwork industry has a lack of workers so finding a job is not hard after finishing school. Personally I don´t like to work at factories but maybe some other students do.

I chose to study here at Careeria because I think machining and welding will help me with my spare time hobbies a lot. Another big reason to why I chose this school is because it is possible to get further studies with little effort. I´ve always wanted to become an engineer so this school fullfills one of my many goals in life. The best thing about my studies have been to do something I like with good friends. We´ve also done lots of fun projects wich I will remember for a long time.

I´ve worked at a couple of workshops and my longest job experience was at a local hydraulic store, it lasted for three years until i quit. Nowadays I have my own company and I build mostly motorcycle engines in my garage. I also restore and sell cars sometimes. Personally I can´t see myself working for someone else the rest of my life so when I am done with my studies I will most likely continue with my own business. 

When I worked for someone else I was always one time, gave 110% and didn´t nag about unnecessary stuff. When I build engines for my customers I build them like they were for me. I don´t charge much compared to the shops nearby and my work leaves a nice finish. It is getting to the point where I should upgrade some of my tools and my workplace to be able to keep track of things and orders.
