ICT-workshop, Jere

To ICT-class belongs a workshop, computer class, A/V-installation room and warehouse.

Workspaces:

In workshop we usually fix mobile phones, computers and other electronic devices. We do here also practical jobs and own/client work.

In computer class we have theory lessons and theory excersises that are made with computer.

In A/V-installation room there is television and Yamaha's home theatre system. There television and home theatre installation can be practiced. The room works also as a break room.

In warehouse, there is lots of useful cabels, old displays, input devices, random access memories, storage drives and power supplies that you can take into use by teachers permission. For example when hard disk of my old laptop broke, i got a working spare harddrive to my laptop from there. Usually all working components of broken computers, like hard drives, are stored to the warehouse.

Machines and devices:

In computer class there is about 20 computers. from one is a school's Active Directory profile computer.

In workshop there is some computers, two televisions, one more powerful custom-built gaming pc. There is also Teklab's electrical workstations wich has power outlets, adjustable AC/DC power supplies and oscilloscopes.

In A/V-installation room there is a television, home theatre amplifier and speakers, router and a Chromecast. There is also few old stereo- and surround amplifiers in the back of the room.

Tools & working equipment:

In workshop, there is cleaners, air compressor. In tool locker there is screw drivers, hammers, metering equipment etc. Of course also installation disks and sticks for computers.

Work safety:

When working in workshop, safety shoes need to be used. because they protect feets, but also they isolate better from ground than regular shoes. So if someone would get an electric shock from hand to the ground, safety shoes makes the dangerous current that flows through body, a lot smaller (less harmful). So it's wise to wear safety shoes also from electrical safety perspective.

In electrical workstation tables, there is fuses, earth leakage circuit breaker and emergency stop buttons. Earth leakage circuit breaker protecs human if electrical shock happends.

Environmental protection:

In ICT-class, all electrical and electronic equipment scrap, paper/cardboard, bottles and metals are recycled. And all working components from broken computers gets stored to warehouse.

And once, used Dell desktop computers was shipped from our class to an african school to use.

Tidiness:

Class is always cleaned by the end of the day, so that working in the class is safe, and all equipment can be found easily.

Break room:

On loft, there is the A/V-installation room that works also as break room. There is a sofa aswell. 

In my opinion the class is a functioning entirety. The most i like from practical work in workshop, for example repairing, installation and client works.
