Workshop Osmo

Becaus of the Covid-19 virus closing down all the schools I will instead tell you about my own workplace. My workplace which is also known as my garage is a small garage that is turned into me and my dads workshop. My dad has built a little office for him in one of the corners because he works from home. There are two exits, the main door and the one that leads in to the house. 

Technically there are two workspaces, one in the back corner of the garage and the other in our storage at our back yard. In the garage I do all of the nice works for example build engines, port cylinder heads etc. In the storage I grind pieces and make special tools for the most. 

I own most of the basic tools like ratchets, sockets and screwdrivers but i do have a good amount of special tools too. I have a small wall with some screwdrivers and a couple of ratchets which is located near the main exit of the garage. My special tools are located in a small movable chair in the garage, that´s where I keep my valve tools, magnetic pointers, pullers and other "rare" tools. My dream is to someday have CNC-and welding machines at my shop but right now that isn´t possible.

At my workplace there are no safety standards but If I have to grind something I do have safety glasses and respirators. It is possible to get fuel or other irritating liquids in the eyes but if working with those kind of substances safety equipment is a must to have.

Here at my place we have 3 recycling bins for common materials and the dangerous ones we take to the local recycling center. There is one trashcan which is for paper, dirty rags and old gaskets. The oil and fuel we keep in packages made to hold those substances so there won´t be any environmental damage. 

A common rule at my garage is to clean up when the day is done or when the current work is over. Most of the tools have places meant just for them so keeping track of thing isn´t that hard. It is a small garage so there ain´t too much space but it is always possible to keep it clean. 

There is no break room at my garage so I usually just go upstairs to eat something or grab a cup of coffee.
