ICT Workshop

ICT workshop is a third and second year students working place. ICT workshop workstations are Teklab special tables. The tables have a DC power source that can adjust voltage up to 30 volts. There can also adjust an ampere limit, which prevents component breakdown when a short-circuit occurs. The tables also have a basic socket outlet.

Tools in the ICT workstation are located near main door in a compartment, including a multimeter, screwdrivers, tongs and other similar tools. There is also Windows installation media, so we can fix computers technical issues.

In the workshop we are used to wear safety shoes that isolate user from the ground. Teklab tables are also protected by residual current circuit breaker and a fuse. At each table there is an emergency button, which kills off the voltage. Emergency buttons are located all around the room. Work ergonomics in the workplace is small, because much of the work is done while sitting. It is a good idea to go outside to get fresh air or just take a walk.

We are protecting an environment by recycling scraps and leftovers. In the workshop there are a recycle bin for bottles, scrap metal and paper. We are told to use just right amount of wire to avoid unnecessary waste. At the end of the day it is good to clean up your own mess, so next day it is a lot easier to continue working.

A break room is located in small area in upstairs. In the upstairs you can watch TV or just have fun with friends. Also, there are good lounge areas in a hallway. In the workstation there are many computers, so you can just sit down and start browsing social media. Sometimes it is good to take a break from the computers and go buy something from the canteen.
